Our account would not be where it is today with efficiency if we had not stopped wondering and just asked our Iterable team. If you have a need or goal, talk to them. I have found our CSM, and really everyone, to be so creative in solving our opportunities.
Interview
When and how did you get your start in marketing?
Lol, I’m old. Digital Marketing was not really a thing (or a big thing) yet. I started in Marketing at Entercom Radio in Portland on the events and promotions team (street team) in 2001 as a freshman in college. I hated my job as a DJ (not a cool one, one for weddings and school dances) and was looking for a fun job and school credit so I applied for the internship and worked there 3 years. I got paid next to nothing, the hours were horrible but I got a lot of freebies and went to any concert I wanted.
What are some of your career highlights or campaigns that you’re especially proud of?
- Running a RFP and ESP migration with half the resources, in the middle of a pandemic.
- The tenure on my team and being a part of their career growth.
- Working with dogs!
What tips, tricks, or pieces of advice would give a new Iterable user?
Ask! If you don’t know if something is possible, throw the question out in the universe. Our account would not be where it is today with efficiency if we had not stopped wondering and just asked our Iterable team. If you have a need or goal, talk to them. I have found our CSM, and really everyone, to be so creative in solving our opportunities.
What led you to choose Iterable over others in the market?
CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
As a consumer, what brings you joy from a brand’s outreach/communication?
Brands that have fun and are relatable. Be true to the brand but it is okay to loosen up. I find I trust brands like this because they are more approachable.
What would you like to see brands doing more of? Or less of?
More pushing the envelope and making less panic decisions. If you are supporting something socially charged, do not back down because a loud minority says they will take their business elsewhere. Your business will recover and probably be better because younger customers have more LTV. Stick to your decision. Stop given them the power. Marketing is the power to change minds or guide decisions, so start doing it!
