Interview
When and how did you get your start in marketing?
I started my marketing career working on a political campaign during the pandemic. Due to limited in-person events, our communication efforts became our main strategy for connecting with voters. This allowed me to hone my skills using email, social media, and other forms of digital advertising.
How do you stay inspired or motivated in your work?
I am an email nerd and have countless email addresses tracking email design, copy, CTAs from brands big and small. Additionally, every new client my agency brings in is a chance to experiment with every step of the email marketing process.
What challenges was your team experiencing prior to Iterable? How has Iterable helped address these challenges?
Our firm has many political clients, which require us to set up an email program in a very short time frame. Iterable has been able to help us set up accounts very quickly and also allowed flexibility with our billing as our number of users often fluctuates.
What led you to choose Iterable over others in the market?
Iterable has differentiated itself from competitors due to cost-effectiveness and ease of use across a wide range of industries. Whether you’re sending to a few thousand users all the way up to the millions, Iterable has all the capabilities and features needed without being expensive or hard to use.
Besides Iterable, what are the other tools in your marketing toolkit that you can’t live without?
Canva and Zapier. Canva is great for quick and dirty graphics as well as adding animation and gifs. We love using Zapier to integrate and streamline our data from just about anywhere.
What would you like to see brands doing more of? Or less of?
As someone who receives hundreds of emails everyday, I like seeing a messaging frequency prompt for users. (how often would you like to receive our messages) I think it’s beneficial for the marketer and the user to sustain the relationship for as long as possible.
If you weren’t a marketer, what would you be?
A DJ. I love music of all genres, make playlists for all my friends and enjoy going back and listening to older music from before my time.
If you came with a warning label, what would it say? (ex: you’re a fast talker, you’re highly competitive, you talk about your dog a lot, etc.)
HIGHLY LIKELY to examine your routine and habits and suggest ways to make them more efficient.
