Our Customer Spotlight Series focuses on the creative geniuses who work tirelessly behind the scenes to build great marketing campaigns.
In each Customer Spotlight, we ask a marketer questions about getting started in their career, what makes them tick, and some fun questions to learn what our customers like to do when they’re not using Iterable.
For our February Customer Spotlight, we are excited to introduce you to Anya Vo. Anya is an Email Marketing Manager at Asana, the easiest way for teams to organize and manage all of their work.
February Customer Spotlight: Anya Vo
Anya Vo got her start in marketing at General Assembly, an education company, leading local marketing for their San Francisco campus.
She transitioned to focus specifically on email marketing at Asana about three years ago. She’s helped manage two email platform migrations and recently implemented Iterable.
When she’s not emailing, she spends most of her time exploring the outdoors, trying new recipes, and attempting to be more like Marie Kondo.

What do you love about your role?
As a marketer, you get to flex both the right and left side of your brain, and I love being able to use logic and creativity to create compelling campaigns. Beyond that, I love how cross-functional email marketing is. I get to work with almost every team at Asana, including product, design, content, data science, business technology, sales, and customer success—I feel like I’m always learning something new!
What is one piece of advice that you would give a new Iterable user?
Get to know the Iterable team and utilize their resources! Anyone that’s gone through a new ESP implementation knows how challenging it can be, but Iterable made the whole process super seamless. Between your CSM, live chat support, and the community, there are always additional resources and help when you need it.
What do you like most about using Iterable?
Two things immediately come to mind: speed and flexibility. Iterable’s segmentation feature is incredibly fast and allows for complex data segmentation. With Iterable, we’ve been able to more easily leverage data to create a better and more valuable experience for our customers. Also, it feels like the UI was designed with marketers in mind, it’s super easy to navigate and set up campaigns or workflows.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“Empathy is your secret weapon.” By putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, you can better understand their perspective, and build stronger and more meaningful relationships. I’ve found this to be helpful in all parts of my life, including how I think about having a customer-first approach to marketing.
What is your most prized possession?
This isn’t a tangible possession, but health is super important to me. I’m grateful to work for a company that is ranked as a Great Place to Work and prioritizes health and mindfulness for its employees. Other than that, I really love my Dyson vacuum 🙂
